Medicare is in the news. Some people want to change it, others don’t. From what I can gather, it’s socialized medicine for the elderly. That sounds un-American. Except when we have socialized medicine for the military. Or for members of Congress. Hey, if an insurance company can’t make big profits by wedging itself firmly between a patient and her doctor … well that’s just un-Capitalistic. Everything works better when you turn it over to the invisible hand of the free market, and untether it from bothersome regulations. What could possibly go wrong? So, Paul Ryan, your time has come.
